In a report on hidden treasures in museums, the Telegraph has a Spanish flag, flown by the ship San Ildefonso at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Wow! That thing is huge!

That was a great article. Thanks for posting it. I had a chance to go to Portsmouth and see one of the large sails from the HMS Victory from that battle. The sizes are incredible. No wonder it took so many men to change sail state.

As the article says the Flag was displayed at Nelson's funeral
Note the large French Flag to the right.

These flags were known as Battle Ensigns and would have been flown from the stern of the ships This modern picture shows two ships in battle with Battle Ensigns If you look at it in larger scale you will see how small the men are
