I'm looking for power armored troops that has a 1930s Pulp or WWW2 look to it. My son and I have started 1/72 WW2 gaming and we want to add some "weird" elements to it, so a few power armored troopers would be a start. Some of the DUST and SOTR stuff is just way too big, but true 25mm or even 15mm could do. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

One range that might fit some of your needs is Ground Zero Games' 25mm Stargrunt figures. They are "true 25s", so fairly small compared to most more recent ranges. The PA figs are bulkier than the regular infantry, but still small enough that a current 28mm fig couldn't fit into one. They might size well with 1/72, since clunky WWW2 PA would probably be very bulky.

The ESU, NSL, NAC, FSE and OUDF include powered armour troops and could be WWW2ed. I think the ESU would be good candidates, as they are angular. The OUDF might also work, they're kind of an "eggs on legs" shape – kind of primitive looking.

Few pics on the GZG site, but Eureka Miniatures also carries the line and does have a lot of pics.

GZG is renowned for good service, too.

Another manufacturer to look at is Reviresco. Their Starguard range is 1/72 and has a few PA figs in some of the factions.

I've never seen them in person and the style is certainly "old school" but a few figs might fit with the WWW3 theme.

The Terran Marines "trolls" look like they have potential:

Good luck with your project!

The 15mm Coyote Light walkers from Clockwork Goblin may fit the bill. Here is the link:

And here is size comparisons: Note the size of the Coyote, versus the guy in 15mm power armor, versus a regular 15mm fig.
