I've been (slowly) painting up the contents of my Hobbit box set and a box of Warg Riders. The other day, I decided to gather up what I've finished and have a little skirmish. The full tale of Thorin and some of his trusty companions getting ambushed on the way up the Misty Mountains is told on my blog: link

Nice writeup. Your models and terrain look excellent.

Nice! I liked the hyenadons from the LotR movies, but I also like the more wolf-like wargs from The Hobbit. The minis of those are very nice.

When I read "Hobbit Skirmish" the first thing that came to mind was a bunch of loud drunken halflings involved in Hobbit-on-Hobbit violence.

Very nice.
I really like the color scheme you used on your goblins.

While I can't remember the Hobbit exactly, I'm pretty sure in the Lord of the Rings, Tolkien always describes orcs/goblins skin and being grey, or is some cases black. So that's how I've always pictured them. I must admit, when I first saw the GW paint jobs on the goblins, I thought they were terrible models. Nope, just terrible paint jobs.

I'm so used to green orcs and goblins nowadays, I don't even notice.
