I have recently bought Architects of War excellent Saw Bones set. I'd like to do a little vignette of a field hospital. A couple of quetions: Did field hospitals have any flags identifying them as such? Does anyone have photos of acw field hospitals? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

A yellow flag with a green H in it seems to have being used, I'm not sure how commen it was or even if it was used by only the union. I'm pretty sure you will get plenty of help with this one. |

I've used the plain yellow flag but it seems the "H" was added in '64 by the Union TMP link |

Here is the field hospital portion of the Gettysburg Cyclorama: link No flag but it should give some ideas for "improving" the AoW kit. Jim |

The Feds used the yellow flag and the ANV used a plain red flag I believe. |

Just to add confusion, early in the War many of the Union field hospitals used red flags. That was changed after a couple of incidents where artillery mistook the flags for Confederate battle flags with unsettling results. |
