Is there a formula for determining the odds of scoring at least 'x' hits with 'y' D6 requiring 'z' to score a hit?

I in 6 for any one die. Need 4-6 = 50% It will pretty much be the same no matter how many dice you roll. There is a formula for the bell curve when you throw that many, but I don't know it.
1 in 6 =16.66%. The chance of getting the # you need is 50-50,(Yes or no)modified by the 16.66% (Chance of any one number coming up.)

Yes I should know the rest of it too.

You could use one of the binomial statistical functions in MS Excel such as BINOMDIST.

Thanks, DColtman, that was what I needed. Turns out I have never known this, but it works a treat.

I had found this site where it would calculate the probability based the type of dice, number of dice, and target number: link

I'm glad DColtman mentioned the BINOMDIST function in Excel. I didn't know that one, so I made one in Excel today for d6:

*I cannot guarantee that these are absolutely correct, since I put this together quickly.
