Hi Guys
I've finally finished basing my PERRY MINIATURES French Young Guard Tiraileurs. I really like these miniatures. I've always been fascinated by this Corps of Napoleon's Imperial Guard. They are sort of like a Napoleonic version of the German 12th SS Panzer Division 'Hitlerjugend'.

Anyway, the PERRY's have done an excellent job on modelling these lads. I really like the way that they seem to be leaning into the withering fire of the enemy (probably Prussians). They really appear to be determined to get stuck in.
You can see more photos on my blog here:

I've based them on 50mm wide by 40mm deep bases.
The flag is an excellent GBM Flag. A real piece of fine art IMHO

Comments welcomed.
Cheers

Well painted & I particularly like the weathering on the culottes. My only issue is your comparison to Der Hitlerjugend. ;)

If you are like most of us and fight many of the 1813 battles in 2013, you will need them. I have 4 bns of Young Guard that I wish I had time to paint.

Great work as always mate! And yes, the poses are very suggestive of determination…

They are sort of like a Napoleonic version of the German 12th SS Panzer Division 'Hitlerjugend'.

Nothing controversial in this statement, move along please!

LOL!! ;)
I was referring to the fact they both are young, highly motivated troops with an impressive combat record.

Lovely work! I would like to think that their foward lean is more to do with the weight of all the truffles in their packs.

Very nicely painted! Been planning to get a couple of battalions of these guys too.

I am showing my lack of knowledge on this subject. Are these figures wearing 1815 uniforms? Was the uniform not different in 1813-14? I am ask because I want to do some up for the 1813 period and was wondering if I could use the Perry's or go with the Front Rank that had the plume.

Great Paint Job, I can use your work as a reference.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris
These lads are 1815.
You might be correct in regards to there being a difference between the uniform worn by the YG in 1813-14 and that worn in 1815.
That said, I'll be using these lads in my 'War of Liberation' battles.
Cheers
