Lovely feather texture in particular; must admit I'm not sure about the beak though.

I think its a nice sculpt but it does look like he's wiping a little tear from his beady eye …

It's because everyone's making fun of his beak, it's not his fault.

To be fair the beak looks attached wrong, I believe you'd want to create a better connection along the sides of its face more.

However, overall very nice. I do like the pose, it's defensive, but cool.

Far better than anything I could do…but the beak doesn't look right to my eye there is a bit to much

brilliant

I have one issue –

It is with the beak.

where are the nasal openings? I think they are there but I cannot quite see them?

Who is casting it for you, and how much will it cost? Its a bit like my business logo!

Great job on the body but I too think the beak can use some work. Looks a little like Gonzo on Bath Salt.

Very nicely done. A few touchups and it's there! Great work!

Great work on the feathers. Very good.

The beak hooks a bit soon:

Easy enough to trim and extend if you felt like it. I do like that the lion shoulders lead into the legs – a lot of the GW griffons look like a raptor attempting to give birth to a cat.

I like it myself, he looks like "stand still you little %&^*$& so I can swat you"

GriffinTamer23 Feb 2013 3:49 p.m. PST

Great gryphon! I like his pose, very animated, a great sense of readiness to pounce; and lovely detail especially on the wing feathers. I'm afraid I agree with the others on the beak, but I suppose every gryphon needn't exactly match a real raptor's facial profile. Maybe this guy uses his bill to burrow for subterranean prey if there's nothing available on the wing…

The rest of the sculpt is to good to suffer the beak so… nurse scalpel please… oh did i said i love the wings on this one.

Gryphy had to get a beak job
