As discussed in the previous thread, there is a mix here.

I think the heralds look pretty good, the Tzeentch Chariot with the flamer config looks really cool, the Khorne one not so much.

I do really like the drones. Those are the bees knees. Too bad Nurgle is the only power I don't have a demon army for.

Also, what is up with the 1-click "deals?" They aren't any cheaper than just buying them all at once. Is it that hard to put them in the cart one at a time?

Seems like they should release battalion boxed sets for them and get them down to be a deal about about $90 USD-110.

The one-click is simply a way to buy the entire release with just one click (obviously). Yes, it is harder to put them in the cart one at a time. Not MUCH harder, but definitely slightly harder. This is there for an impulse buyer: if you make it as easy as you possibly can, the impulse buyer will be more likely to spend the money. Make them work for it, and they might not.

Personally, I'm positively inclined towards the entire release. The Plague Drones are so much better than the little pics we got a few days ago, too bad I don't have anything nurgle related. I have a Tzeentch collection, and that chariot is flat out awesome, and absolutely on my list!

Damon.

The new GW Demons and with the way GW has been going these are some ugly looking miniatures.

Plus I would not be dropping of these even if they are plastic because they will break.

Pictors Studio22 Feb 2013 9:39 p.m. PST

Do you make a regular habit of dropping your miniatures? Mine sometimes fall but I would not, under most circumstances, drop any of my figures.

Pictors Studio22 Feb 2013 9:50 p.m. PST

As a follow up question, do you only buy figures that would not break if dropped?

I do like the plague drones though I think they'd look better without the Plague Bearers, who don't look quite right to my eye, perched on top.

I think the Plague drones are the best of the new releases followed by the Nurgle Herald.

The Khorne herald is too dynamic bordering on Slaanesh. IMHO The Khorne chariot should have been pulled by Juggers with attendent bloodletters holding up the throne…..

The Slaanesh herald could have been better in that it should have been more human hence the whole concept of non-followers being deceived by Slaanesh….The Slaanesh chariot on the other hand is very good.

7/10 only because of the Nurgle drones which are superb.

As for the four codices well, what can I say if you get all the past quotes from Jervis you have your answer….glad I kept my original copies of The Lost and the Damned etc…

Damn.. Nurgle got prettiest miniatures again..
I don't have anything about pretty models.. but come on. Nurgle stuff should be repelling and Slaneshian pretty :)

"As a follow up question, do you only buy figures that would not break if dropped?"

Why for the most part yes.

My Eldar are mostly of the old Rogue Trader metal.

Very hard to break if dropped.

Yes you don't ever plan on them dropping or getting knock off the table but this does happen.

Pictors Studio23 Feb 2013 11:41 p.m. PST

I guess it depends on what you mean by break. If you mean actually come apart then maybe on the harlequins but if you mean damage in a way that they need repair by break then I disagree.

Dropping a painted metal figure, especially many of those with swords will often require repair more extensive than dropping any of the new plastic GW models, especially if you play over carpet. The swords bend fairly easily especially if they are the older lead ones, and that will mean chipping and then repainting. While even if the plastic does snap all that will be required is gluing it back together, something that could be accomplished while still gaming.

Not what I expected. I have a huge Demon army already painted, so I don't know if I will need any of those miniatures. This time I will probably only buy the codex.
