I have just bought two basic army packs. The inf come with 40 x 20mm plastic bases. I just wondered whether people were basing on these or using other base sizes. I was thinking of using something deeper so that muskets / bayonets stay within the limits of the base, while still being able to to a ragged line. |

There is no reason why you can't base your own figures anyway you like, they are your figures. Most decent rulesets are sufficiently flexible to take a variety of bases sizes as long as they are compatible with their opponents. If you collect both sides then there is no problem at all! |

Most rules have basing spelled out. What rules will you be using with these figs? |

I bought the figures to use over a grided surface, so I will be writing my own – however, I also have the Kallistra hex based terrain and since they have already written hex based rules for other periods, I wondered whether they would do the same for ACW and guessed that if they did, they would probably have the rules reflect the actual bases that they include with the figures (40 x 20). |

Second last time I spoke to Paul Kerrison of Kallistra he offered to send me a draft copy of the ACW rules intended for his ACW range. This was over a year ago. I've been too busy with other periods and scales to find the time to chase him up. Maybe he will read this and respond in fashion. |
