Did they Buy/Rent some of the Italeri "Easy Models"?

I'm looking specifically at the 1/72 SU-152 Kits.

Italeri and Pegasus models are different – in terms of parts and assembly – so connection, apart from making the same models.

Pegasus models tend to be more accurate and detailed than Italeri fast builds.

An inspection of the construction plans at Henk of Holland reveals that they are completely different. For example, the Italeri kit has each set of running gear moulded as a single piece whereas the Pegasus kit's are multi-part with separate outer wheels, drive sprockets, etc, etc.

I have had trouble hot-linking images from HoH in the past but they can most easily be found by going to Henk's index page and scrolling down to the section Manufacturers with "Fast Assembly" Kits …

Pegasus is separate and different from Italeri.

Larry Pegasus wants to do lots of WWII Soviet vehicles and so there will be some overlap in their stuff and other companies. They have at least two more Soviet 1/72nd scale sets in the pipeline.

Hi Tim,

Yes, there may have been some confusion there. The kits I can see are:
Italeri Kit 7501 – JSU-152 (2 kits in the box)
Pegasus Kit 7668 – SU-152 (2 kits in the box)
Pegasus Kit 7670 – JSU-122 and JSU-152 (2 kits in the box)

I kind of assumed the original question actually pertained to the JSU-152, it being the common subject. Anyhow, I think we have demonstrated that none of the Pegasus models are clones of Italeri fast builds.

Have a Pegasus IS-2: it is totally different from the Italeri kit, and far, far nicer.

OK, my mistake, I remember seeing the Italeri kit (Briefly) in a hobby shop, and now the Pegasus kits are all over evil bay. But I don't want a "Nicer" kit, I just want toy like kits (70's ROCO?). Hm, may try the IS-2. But one Pice track assemblies are good…

But one Pice track assemblies are good…

In that case Italeri fast builds and Armourfast are your friends ! ;o)

That's nice to hear that Pegasus have more Red armor kits in the future. The small amount of extra time to construct the suspension is worth the effort. I don't like the lack of track detail on the Italeri kits.

I don't like the lack of track detail on the Italeri kits.

Me either, though I think Italeri are (mostly) better than Armourfast. Probably the thing that annoys me more than the lack of "interior" detail on some of those assemblies is the absence of accurate track patterns on the outside. I reckon the PSC approach is a reasonable compromise. Some of the Pegasus kits look to have a few more parts than PSC in the running gear, while some are obviously not "fast builds" at all (eg Pershing…).

Herr Bunkermeister, please do tell what the new kits will be!
