going a little bit different route on the Fort. Gear doors are separate from the gear. That way the same doors are used for either the open or closed options.

I've been playing with the idea of building something like this in 10-12mm for my rebased Mechwarrior armies. How easy would it be to scale this up digitally?

Dimensions are what I'm looking for to be sure I'm in the right ballpark on the build.

Sorry, not sure on IWM's release date for this

Scaling is easy

A bit of artistic license thrown here. One of the bay doors services a whole company of Mechs, so I heightened one of the doors.

In mapscale, the diameter on this is 4.7"

Whoa! Good candidate for hard foam casting, IMO.

Someone needs to release a set of landing gear and greebles made to fit your average hamster ball ;)

Kirk Alderfer19 Feb 2013 9:57 p.m. PST

Just contact IWM and order the gear from the Overlord for your custom DropHammies

I'm assuming the design will feature a cap so we can show the fortress with its Long Tom in firing position?

Kirk Alderfer21 Feb 2013 5:53 a.m. PST

And you assumed correctly sir

Cergorach21 Feb 2013 11:16 a.m. PST

Does that thing have five legs and five doors? It kinda looks like four…

Kirk Alderfer21 Feb 2013 3:29 p.m. PST

It has five doors & landing gear

Very, very nice. It's a shame the size I need would be about the size of basketball. I wouldn't want to guess how much that would cost to print, even in pieces.

But I've got an idea about using plasticard over an inverted salad bowl on top of a smaller regular bowl… Time to hit the dollar store for some inspiration

Models are done and quotes are out. Hopefully will know something soon.
