Following the announcement last week about the merger of Battlegames & Miniature Wargames magazines, I recorded an interview with Henry Hyde – the current editor of Battlegames and the man who will be the editor of Miniature Wargames from issue 361. Henry talked at some length about how the events unfolded from his point of view, talks about some of his futre plans and aspirations and also addresses some of the questions / concerns that have been raised since the news announcement. The interview can be heard on the latest Meeples & Miniatures Podcast, which can be downloaded here: link
or it's available from iTunes |

Very long but very interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for doing this. |

Neil, thanks for this. A very interesting listen. Confirms my thoughts that Henry is the best person for the job and a safe pair of hands. |

Neil: it was an enjoyable listen as background while I was painting figures today. Henry sure has his work cut out for him but to echo what Fat Wally says, Henry is the right man for the job. I look forward to seeing the first issue of the new MW in April. |

Neil, I look fwd to listening to the latest M&M podcast, which I subscribe to. Although I've been a regular reader of Miniature Wargames for years, I was often disappointed when there were several articles in an issue that were all about particular battles or campaigns with very little reference to wargaming those actions. This is something I'm hoping Henry will address under his editorship. In short, I too look forward seeing the new look Miniature Wargames. |

Interesting stuff, but I must admit this particular blog programme seemed to be particularly long and, dare I say it, a bit boring. That said I wish the new/combined magazine success. Just hope that it will get to the point a bit quicker than the blog

Like lots of podcasts, it could have done with editing to tighten it up but Henry is a lot more concise in print. I'm looking forward to it. |

Fair enough. Salute it is then! No time for 'waffle' there hopefully, much too much to see and buy. Wonder if Henry will be utilising the services of attractive young ladies at Salute to push the magazine which I seem to recall was the case when Andrew took over Miniature Wargames? Not of course that we wargamers would be swayed by such a base appeal to our senses
well, speaking for myself, I thought it was a GREAT idea. Actually bought two copies just to provide an excuse to chat to two lovely ladies. Hell, I'm just so damn fickle! |

Over on WD3, Henry has confirmed that there will be attractive young ladies involved in the marketing at Salute. |

Hurrah, even more to look forward to than usual at Salute. Better start saving up my 'pennies' and clearing my outstanding credit card balance ready for its annual hammering at Salute. |

Keep the crumpet, the best thing at Salute. My old muffer Nosher Pissworth suggests a wet t shirt competition would get the mag of with a bang, raise the game . Glad to help. Chin up Sid |

Wet 'T-shirt' competition, NOW you're talking :-) |

Wet 'T-shirt' competition, NOW you're talking :-) ------------ although i really don't want to see the average wargamer in a wet t-shirt! |
