i have a bunch of these minis, and love the game. the only complaint is my group wants more variety and were curious are there any other similar fantasy and historical minis that match scale? light conversion isnt an issue, nor is material of casting. thanks a bunch!

I'm a bit surprised no one has made some of Davey Jones' crew type figures with cutlasses, claws, sawfish blades, etc., in any scale.

AEG produced a couple dozen different swashbuckling minis back before they shut down production of Clan War. You might be able to find some of those rattling around… I haven't ever kept an eye out for them, so I don't know.

And there are definitely some other companies out there that do Pirate lines. Current lines include link and link as well as others that I can't think of.

Hope that's what you're looking for.

Swap to 15mm and Flashing Steel by ganesha Games. There's soo much stuff either of that era or
fantasy-pirates out there-

I have 5 24+ pirate crews mapped out as individuals, militia, pirate hunters, aliens (think Lacepunk!), natives, dinosaur island(s) and more. You can even go the horror route and get Khurusan's Cthulu, or the odd dragon.

Or, of course, you could go oriental, Barbary coast or Japanese-.

I don't believe anyone else makes suitable pirates to the same "larger" scale that Black Scorpion does.

I love their figures, but you are pretty much locked in to their stuff unless you are willing to ignore the differences between, say Artizan, or Foundry pirates and Black Scorpion.

I had loads of Artizan wild west figures, and then the Tombstone range started coming out from Black Scorpion. I love the look of those figs, but heard they were just a little too big to "forgive". Some, however, had no issues. So I finally broke down and bought a few figures, and compared them on my own table, and for me, they are just too much larger all around.

So for western gaming, I don't use Black Scorpion. And for pirate gaming, I only use Black Scorpion. But I stress that is just me. Others might have no issues. Games are meant to be fun, and I will happily play in anyone's game using any line of minis. But I won't shell out my money when the differences are too great to ignore.
