In 18th Century siege lingo, insult means a fortified defensive position is breached. I am afraid this is the case here:

It is 18 July 1900. Gen. Pettygree's Surajistan Field Force repulsed the first Thugee wave. A second stronger one appeared and… well… why not read about it above via the usual captioned photos.

I am certain you will find it interesting.

Respectfully,
Bill

This Guru chappie is a queer sort of fellow.Any adult man who wears a nappy isn't to be trusted!Clearly a rotter of the highest order.I wouldn't put anything past the cunning little devil! It's just not cricket.

Once again an entertaining post thank you gentlemen for sharing. You know your on the right track when you're running out of men to put on the table.:)

I am assuming that somehow the Major General survives, otherwise he wouldn't be around to write the story and tell the tale. evil grin

And failing that, I bet that the MG gets about 50 saving throws until he survives. Come on Colonel Keane, get moving and quick. But will his reinforcement be enough?

I had you same thought as DAF, but we are on tenterhooks as to how many of his compatriots will survive with him.

A real nail-biter. Here is hoping General Pettygree does not follow in the footsteps of Chinese Gordon.

I just realized the true horror of what's happening: ge2002bill will have to replace much of his figure collection (not to mention deploy nearly a dozen more battalions as a punitive Field Force)

Oh, the horror (at least to the pocketbook)!

Thank you for your remarks, empathy, interest in the story and the Column's welfare. The conclusion to the Battle of Dongolo is now written and will be posted this coming weekend. It needs a little bit of writing regarding players, casualties and what not.
Respectfully,
Bill

Oh, those poor brave lads! Stalwart hearts, all. I believe a subscription is in order for a suitable memorial, eh what, chaps?
