"This « electrical ground torpedo » which seems striaight out of a Jules Verne novel, was proposed (probably in 1915) by MM Gabet and Aubriot. The machine could carry 200 Kgs of explosive material in the enemy trenches. It was fed by two electrical wire wound down behind it . It was probably guided by clutching in or out the side tracks. Presented as a mere « curiosity » by the popular magazine « la Science et la Vie » after the war it was not series-produced
yet it anticipates remarkably the WW2-era Goliath"
