I love these figures from Wargames Foundry- Has anyone here used them in their ACW army and, if so, what Union or Confederate BATTERY did you use them to represent? Thanks, Chris |

No, but maybe US regulars? Artillery in Hardees are a bit out of the ordinary. |

Western troops would be the most likely to wear hats.It would be probably OK to put a couple of crew members in hats to provide some variety There are a lot of "hats" in this unidentified battery:

Battery B, 4th US (Gibbon's battery) accompanied the Iron Brigade. Did they wear the Hardee? |

Battery B, 4th U.S. got more and more reinforcements form the Iron Brigade as the war went on. Many of them may have worn Hardees. |

According to contemporary photographs Battery B 4th US wore the kepi >> Forage caps to be exact. Soldiers on campaign would sometimes go for slouch hats for the comfort and to keep the sun out of their eyes. To have EVERY guy in the regt. with the same exact headgear would be wrong. It almost never happened. Its like saying EVERY member of the AoP wore forage caps,or EVERY soldier in the Western theater wore Hardee's or slouch's. They wore both. Bob |
