A friend of mine built a house recently and he asked me to write a game for him to christen his new games room.

We're big Memoir '44 fans and he asked for a multi-player game with paratroopers, super tanks, trenches, airpower, night attacks and a ton of other stuff. I was left scratching my little head at all of this and eventually gave up trying to find a historical battle that included all of these things.

Thus was born the Cabra-Kildare War of 1962.

Now the People's Republic of Cabra and the Commonwealth of Kildare are as ane ful kno formerly known as British PG Tipps, an island now partitioned between the Communist East and the Capitalist West after the Civil War in the late fifties.

You can find out a little bit about the PRC here.
