Here is an AAR from last Sunday's Rapid Fire game on my blog, involving plenty of tank on tank action: link Enjoy!! |

Looks like good fun! I really liked your village and terrain, and the models are beautiful. Seems like you had a bit of bad luck though, but someone has to I suppose! |

Thanks guys, I'm glad you enjoyed the write up (and tanks) as much as we enjoyed the game. The village is mostly scratch built (the smaller buildings) as are the roads and the forest boards. I have a few bits and pieces of scratch built terrain that I will showcase in a future post. Actually Tim, I'm 38, as is my opponent, and I'm an archaeologist, so my knees are shot through! It's getting tougher to play on the floor, but at the moment I have little choice due to space issues! |

Well 38 qualifies for young in my book, but I can imagine your knees wouldnīt be in the best of shape from your line of work. Guess itīs time to buy a bigger house I am currently searching for a set of WWII rules, what it is about Rapid Fire you like so much? |

Buy a house? On my wage!! My knees are shot along with my finances!! I have played Rapid Fire since I was introduced to it at my local games club about twelve years ago, I like it because it is fast play, easy to remember and not hard to learn, all important things as I'm not fifteen years old and don't have hours to spare to learn the armour thickness of different tanks! A game can take around two hours, so perfect for a afternoon or evenings play! Criticisms would be it is quite old school igo ugo, but it seems to work well though and also the armour rules are quite simplified. But if you want a fast and slick game, I think it really works well. |

Time for a thread hijack: about knees and playing on the floor. Many years back, when I was in my forties, I was invited to play a game of Little Wars on the floor of a Manhattan loft. I showed up with a pair of knee pads and was roundly assailed as a cheat and scoundrel. So I crawled around the floor without them. We have since given up on Little Wars because none of us can get down that far any more. If we did, we'd need a fork lift to get up. |

@vtsao- I think you were no more a scoundrel than Claudius showing up with camels. You should have kept them on! @AnV- Rapid Fire sounds very much what I am looking for. I especially like the fast and slick part. I think I will give them a try, thanks very much for the info! |

Hijack away, please! Kneepads are a good idea, I wish I'd thought of them! @TJack: I thoroughly recommend Rapid Fire, it's given me a great deal of pleasure this past decade! |

Second Rapid Fire, the 2nd Edition. Great rules to run at conventions as well as players catch on quickly. Two Yahoo groups to support it as well as the Rapid Fire website. Loved the write up on your game. A group of us run larger games at conventions (6 X 12 table) and for the longest time our play tests were done on the floor. Finally broke down and bought folding tables we can set up for the dry run, store in the gargage between games. The legs not only fold up flat but the tables fold in half making storage a bit more manageable. |

Thanks Marc, glad you liked it. I have thought of investing in tables, but then I'd have to buy chairs as well, as I like to sit down a lot
I would actually like a larger table to play on as a 6x4 can only offer so much in terms of manoeuvre. But again, it's a space issue! |
