I have posted a little tutorial to the blog on the process I use to paint bronze armor. I hope it is useful to some people. link ~ Jonathan |

Hmmm
got me curious. 1. Why gold paint, and not bronze? 2. Why two ink washes? Doesn't the second just cover up the first one? |

The only reason for my choices really is that I think the results look better. Most out-of-the-bottle bronze paints that I have seen are too "pinkish" for my tastes if that makes sense. And no, due to the nature of these washes, they don't cover each other up. |

Interesting method. Might experiment with that myself. What I usually like to do is (also over a white or grey undercoat) give the bronze area a black wash (Tamiya smoke being good for this) and then paint Gunze Sangyo gold over that, leaving the recesses black. This seems to work quite well in 15mm, but even better is to use a proper bronze after the wash stage and highlight with the gold, but that's an extra step and I usually can't be bothered unless it's for body armour as well. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Aaron |

Polished bronze looks rather gold. However if you pictures are color accurate, the gold you use is quite bronze looking already. Nice technique. |

Very similar method to what I use for bronze, although I tend to start with a basecoat of dark brown, then wet brush gold on top of it before carrying on as you do. |
