I have permission from the minister for finaance to undertake a project I have long wanted to do. Perry Samurai painted by professional painters.
Now comes the choice do i do the classic Kenshin vs Shingen or do i do Kato Kiyomasa's division in Korea and then a Choson army to fight it?
What would oyu choose and why?

I did the Imjin War. Alas, I have no minister of fiance to answer to. I also did two Japanese armies, a Korean army, and a Mongol army. My advice is to do something you'd like and then stick with it. When I play samurai, I lose to the Koreans (ugh) with my own house rules (adding insult to injury)…

Excellent!

Sounds like you have a very generous and understanding Finance Minister.

Sorry, can't help with advice, but will watch with interest.

I'm going with the Imjin War myself and just ordered the Killer Katanas supplement for the Imjin War. I can't wait to get painting.

Imjin War – after you're tired fighting Koreans, get a few more Samurai and have them fight each other – hmmm, like Sekigahara

Imjin War… more variety!

I think I'd go with Imjin, again because of the unit variety.

I would do Imjin War, I just wish Perry Miniatures would add Chinese to the range.

All the best,

Mark.

Do two Japanese units to each Korean or Chinese unit and you will soon be able to fight both.

I will be embarking shortly on a 28mm Asian adventure. After much consideration, I have gone with the classic Kenshin vs Shingen combination. I already have about 300 unpainted Perry codes sitting in the garage. Further down the line, I plan to also add the Koreans.

You might be surprised by
my answer ;-) but If say go Imjin.

Nakajima, while containing awesome heraldry, tends to be a bit of a slaughter for the Uesugi most times.

Thanks guys…I am going to just start putting together kato Kiyomasa's forces and then go from there!
