Hi

I am making some Magnetic bases for my Old School 30mm collection and mounting figures on Zinc washers and need to find a hard wearing Green paint that can be used on metal but needs to be able to get knocked about without chipping. I don't mind gloss as I can Matt it down with varnish. Here is picture of my first prototype bases using acrylic green paint

The colours I have found so far:-

Humbrol 38 – Line Green and 208- Signal Green
Revell 61 – Emerald Green

Any one used these colours or have other suggestions

I wonder if something like Rust-Oleum 261937 Touch-Up Paint, 12 Oz, green would work. Has an epoxy base, should be durable.

Bill's suggestion with a metal primer. And I'm happy to see someone else with old school bases, but I go for forrest green (matches my gameboard)

I would think any paint would do as long as it gets several coats of Dullcoat after…no?

Automotive paint has excellent adhesion and durability. Not sure about the shade though? Autozone and others sell it….

I painted the bases of my 'old school' figures (mostly Spencer Smith plastics) with Humbrol matt enamel no. 80 – Grass Green… although I suspect the paint formula may have been changed since then as the shade on the current Humbrol colour chart looks different.
