Hallo,

Has anyone ever build a uss benton or a hms terror from reviresco? I am a abt model builder but i dislike paper modells. Can they be build reinforced with wood or other solid material that they surive a active wargame or a fall from a table. :)

Can someone provide pictures of finished models. I really like the shape of the two reviresco ships. Does something like this exists in resin or in a more solid form than paper.

Thank for the help….
Greetings and have fun

Using heavy card and providing some extra structure from corrugated cardboard will render them nearly indestructible.

A good coating of clear (non-waterbased) finish will add a lot of durability as will a careful back-filling of void spaces with an expanding foam insulation or Gorilla Glue to render them rigid and still lightweight.

Alternately you could scratchbuild them from foam insulation board and card. TVAG has some on his site that are made that way link or using more traditional methods link

These Kits are designed to be reinforced with cardboard. I have model ships that have fought in several actions over the last 20 years and are still usable. Some of my customers have backed the paper kit with Evergreen plastic sheets making them tough as any plastic model.

While I have not made either of those two, I have made the Thor, the Minos and the lobster boats.

Really worth the effort.
