Still working on the army lists.
While researching mythology, I ran across the Oriental beings of Oni (versions of trolls and ogres) and Tenru (goblins).

Doe anyone make or have plans to make these in 25/28mm?
15mm or 10mm ?

I think they would be very colorful armies. the Main color for Oni flessh is either red or blue though they are shown in many colors.

i do remember the old Ral Partha had an ONI in 25mm way back when. IIRC

Ral Partha had them in their Bushido line – here is a link with some pics of the minis

This link states "After the demise of Ral Partha, the rights to these figures reverted to Bob Charrette. All of the human figures from the range, plus a few additional sculpts, are still available from Parroom Station. The figures are currently being manufactured and sold through Brigade Games. These are not affiliated with GCT Studio's 2011 Bushido Game"

Those Ral Partha 25mm sculpts are excellent. I myself would certainly buy any 15mm Japanese mythological figures if any were available.

Most recent oni sculpt I've seen is this one:

You can probably purchase it direct now that the Kickstarter is finished – Scott's blog is over here:

There have been dozens of other onis over the years in various scales. Clan Wars probably had the largest variety, but theirs tended to be more wildly varied monstrous types, less humanoids. Quite a few of them are available through Valiant these days.

GCT has some Japanese fantasy figures and may be adding more.

I have also thought about picking up some of the Goblin and Troll packs from West Wind Productions Dwarf Wars line to use as Oni.
westwindproductions.co.uk or
oldglory25s.com in the US. I wasn't able to find the troll packs on the West Wind site, and getting large pictures of the miniatures seems to be problematic.

The Dixon ones were early Mark Copplestone sculpts, quite nice although maybe a little dated now if you're looking for miniature 'wow'.

Rudysnelson08 Feb 2013 7:11 p.m. PST

Wow thanks for the help. I was very impressed by the Dixon and Ral Partha.

The other companies were impresive as well.

I too would be very interested to know if any 15mm company has plans to do them.

They're a bit pricey, but the Soda Pop minis Noh Berserkers and Kenbo make excellent Oni. Kenbo actually makes a pretty decent Tengu (crow-demon), but demons are demons, right?

One of my friends is half-Japanese, raised Catholic. He was crossing himself when I put Kenobo on the table.

Bushido has quite a few oni and bakemono (no tengu, bird people, yet, if that's what you're after)

Valiant is currently producing the old Clan War line. You should find a lot of what you want in the Shadowlands Horde faction

A couple years ago, I sculpted a bunch of Oni in 15mm. I should get working on the rest of the "range"…

As part of their recently finished Aisan Adventurers Kickstarter, they will be adding a Tengu Swordmaster and an Oni that will be available in their store after the KS is shipped sometime next year.
