actually the first video is from the movie the Admiral which is WWI and the Revolution..

What or which film is the second clip taken from, showing the Japanese perspective? Apart from the awful soundtrack, it's excellent.

It is from a Japanese TV mini-series called "Saka no ue no kumo" or "Clouds above the Slope". It is about the rise of modern Japan.
