Try these links. The museum for the battlefield is great. Just out of curiosity why have you picked Pea Ridge? Thanks. link link link Confederate OOB: link Union OOB: link |

@ wargamer1972 the links you provided don't show the numbers in brigades. I'm currenly reading Shea & Hess book about the battle and I would like to look at the battle with wargamer's eye: translating the brigades to stads. BTW. OOB in the book is better than in Wiki as it gives the type of the guns in batteries. Unfortunatelly it tells nothing about numbers of soldiers. |

Sometime last year I did some research on this, so I could run a Pea Ridge scenario for our local club. Finding accurate numbers for the brigades is tough for this battle--especially the Confederates. Van Dorn's army suffered a great deal of attrition in the days leading up the battle and the organization of the Missouri State Guard is totally open to intrepretation. I read everything I could find, including the ORs, and you have to fill in the pieces with some educated guesses. Shoot me an email at gwagman1 at gmail dot com and I'll send you all the numbers I compiled. |

I have the Fire and Fury Brigade scale from many years ago (18+ years old) still available on my defunct UNC site ( which I lost control of 13 yrs ago when I left UNC), but somehow UNC keeps the site up: link I am afraid most of my research into these numbers was hand written notes from the UNC/UT-Austin libraries. I also tried to follow some of the OoB decisions made in the SPI Pea Ridge game, of which I was a fan. |

There is a link to an order of battle over on the Boardgame Geek page for the old SPI game: link The "Init" column lists initial strength in 50-man (I think) blocks for infantry and cavalry, so the 8-point 3rd Texas would be about 400 men. For artillery the Init is the number of guns present. I don't remember all of the types, but IIRC "N" is 12-pound Napoleons, "L" is 6-pound smoothbores, and "HA" is howitzer. |

I've got already a PM from general.sherman (Bryan). Thank you all for invaluable help. Now I'll try to compare all info I've got. BTW. I recommend "Pea Ridge" by Shea & Hess. Great narrative and many detailed maps. |
