Pulp Library's new Caveman rules finally pushed me over the edge. The rules had a good list of caveman figure manufacturers (Reaper, Eureka, Irregular, Steve Barber, Copplestone, Pulp Figures, HLBS). I also found the link on the Cave Wars yahoo group to Steve Pugh's excellent Dinosaurs in Miniature site listing loads of companies making human cavemen.

But I would also like to find less advanced Hominids & other more fantasy like prehistoric-style figures.

I know I've seen an older figure line of upright ape men with weapons, but I can't remember who made them.

2 examples of the fantasy like figures are GW's Wildmen of Druadan:

& Old Glory's Ice Trolls. These much biggern than a 28 human:

Or even GW's Savage Orcs:

So what other prehistoric Hominid like figures are out there? Or other cavement for that matter?

To be specific, no metal weapons & dressed in animal skins or fur, if dressed at all.

Thanks

I found the ape men line I was thinking of. They were from Raven's Forge, but are now OOP.

Are you implying apes, as a species, are degenerate in some way?

Yours sincerely,

OOP but Ral Partha Taers maybe? They show up on ebay from time to time.

The Baueda Trogs might fit your needs. See them here:

Note that Baueda also has packs of primitive weapons and spears that might be useful for conversions.

For anyone else looking for this kind of stuff, here's an excellent thread covering lots of different primitive/ape men type figures
