Can anyone suggest some decent app for drawing ordinary playing cards (preferably for Android). I'd like the ability to shuffle the deck, and ideally to determine the number of cards (i.e. less than a full deck). All I can find are card games! |

I had the germ of an idea to write one, but don't hold your breath. |

link (at least it's free
) You could use your browser to go to random.org/playing-cards Unfortunately, it appears to shuffle the deck after every draw. You might be able to tweak the script to generate all 52 cards, but store them and only reveal so many at a time, while still pulling the random numbers from their site. |

I was going to write one for myself, so I worked on it last night. Right now it shuffles the deck and draws one card at a time when you click "Draw." Unfortunately, it's a Windows app and not for Android. Let me know what you mean by less than a full deck
only one suit? No facecards? |

I'm working on one in HTML5, the biggest problem is figuring out the HTML way, since I'm a desktop developer. The easiest stuff is a pain in the rump in HTML5. Why HTML5? That way it can run on just about anything (even windows, just not using IE – and IOS). Had a version working in codenameone, then I added background images and the IOS version decided to stop allowing scrolling (which is needed when selecting the cards in the active deck). Had enough of that

You go guys! By less than a full deck, I mean the ability to select exactly which cards I want in (or out) of the deck before shuffling. |

For anyone looking for this on a PC or MAC or LINUX. The vassal engine can do it. Setting it up would take some work but it can be done. Kind of overkill since vassal is for playing boardgames online (including card intensive games) but it is useable. |

My ideal card shuffling app would shuffle a deck of any size – 72 cards or 13. It would not care what values you assigned to the cards – 'two of clubs' or 'card 12 – someone has blundered'. It would just shuffle the deck 7 or 8 times and then let you draw until the deck is used up or you ask to re-shuffle. |

An app where you could draw from a "deck" of game cards would be nice. Something that you could use to play any of the Too Fat Lardies systems, etc
That would be really useful! |

Some flash card apps for iPhone draw random cards from a pre-defined pool – might be worth a look |

Html would definitely work (and is easy when you know it and ignore supporting IE). But what do OP really need? Deck with standard playing cards or cards to resolve some game actions? In the latter case it would be easier to use (and make) by displaying the result rather than a card. |

I just wanted standard playing cards. Looks like some other posters had in mind game-specific cards, but not me. |

collins355, If you email me at esch973800 at aol, I'll send you what I wrote for myself. It just does a standard deck without too many bells or whistles. |
