once upon a time about twenty years ago?? As single figures, not as a two-figure blister pack?? I know that Foundry "now" make a "set" of nine blisters covering Roman civilians (CIV009-CIV017). In fact, I've got a complete set of them (they're on my "to do list" to paint
some-when!). However, bundled with them in the "Imperial Romans" box on my shelf are these two figures which are very clearly Roman "Nobs & Nancys." By the light patina on them I'd say they are clearly "older" (12 or maybe even 20 years??)
but not too old! Certainly not 30+ years like some long-OOP Citadel figures I picked up to humor my son's Warhammer passion
These two match well the newer Foundry figures (both military figures from the Early & Late Imperial lines and the figures in the nine civilian blisters) in scale so were clearly "28mm" even "then" (whenever "then" was!). Tugging at the back of my increasingly brittle brain is this vague memory of getting these two figures while in the UK around either 1996-98, or else 1999-2002. That was back when I was still dabbling in 15mm Romans and intending to use them as "larger than life" statues (probably painted as bronzes) in a city-scape I was trying to assemble for my "Empire" table-top games
but never completed
If not Foundry, any ideas then as to where they might have come from!? I.E., what other companies made a Roman Seantor & his lady in 28mm about 15-20 years ago (and at LEAST 12)? Thanks! |

The Warlord travelling coach has two really nice -seated- figures of a Roman senator and his 'wife' In fact the driver is also superb and I'd wish WG would sell it separetely. link |

@ WillieB Wow. That driver even looks like a figure that, with a slight bit of modification and imagination, could be used in a Latrine vignette
"taking care of business!" |
