Well, the two LEDs are installed (and VERY hard to photograph!) I'll post the FINAL shots soon enough, along with a few shots of the wiring. Anyway, come on by and take a peek!

The thing is… now I need a name! Thoughts?

Anyway… a lot more on the blog!

"Night. We own it." on the dark side, and "meetings running late" on the other.

I'm a big fan of 'motivational' sayings.

Ah just a point of clarification. "When you care enough to send the second best." grin

Zero dark twenty-nine was the best!

Lion in the Stars11 Feb 2013 7:25 p.m. PST

I'll let you debate that one with the guys from Team Six, James. grin

I'll sit here by the keg, make sure nobody uses it as a weapon.

Besides, the check I'm cutting is written out to 'USSOCOM Recreation Committee'. I know that it was more than just SEALs on the Op.

There should be a special forces olympics to sort out the best of the best. You could have the 100m double tap, synchronised fast roping and the explosive entry relay.

Lion in the Stars12 Feb 2013 11:51 a.m. PST

@Milites: ROFLMAO!

And the best part is, all the SpecOps teams around the world would do it, too!

Back to the question of what to call the diorama: "2am wake-up call."

Lord Ashram12 Feb 2013 7:43 p.m. PST

Hm, some good ones…

Milites12 Feb 2013 8:24 p.m. PST

Ok, my bash at the title.

"Flash bang, and the dirt is gone!"
"Calm before the storm"
"Stand by" on the other side "Goodbye"

There is, the CT Olympics. It was not run for a few years between 2001 and 2005 or 2006. Several team participate in shooting, endurance, and other SOF skills and events over a one week period. I have not followed it for some time but SOCOM use to report on who won. It was funny to see SOCOM Team 1 and Team 2 win and no one could figure out who it was.

What, they didn't even admit to which branch? That's no fun. Couldn't they at least wear those 'blueman suits' that the movies use for bluescreen/greenscreening with 'SEAL' or 'DELTA' written across someplace?

Actually, my usual description is along the lines of 'one if by land'… Delta for desert ops, SEALs if it's wet, Marines in the jungle. And Scandahooligans or Royals for snow. They're all about equally competent in cities, and just have different specialties.
