The first draft of the PEL for the upcoming HMGS-PSW March Forward convention has been posted on the new website. It will be updated as more games are submitted.

The con is at the National Guard Armory in Manhattan Beach, CA. on Saturday March 23. If you are or will be in the Southern California area stop on by!

I will be adding (submitting) my June 1945 Post WWII (20mm) FOW scenario event soon. Something about a "local unmarked border" dispute which could get out of hand between the Soviets and USA as they search for German research and development goodies.

For the evening hours a small napoleonic 25/28mm scenario.

If in the greater LA area this HMGS-PSW historical convention is worth a trip for historical gaming.

….meanwhile, I have the Battle of Sacile 1809 at Strategicon.

USS IOWA – General Quarters Game and Battleship tour

It took some time but we have worked out our appearance onboard the USS IOWA on Friday March 22nd. This will make our March Forward convention a much more attractive destination for people who need to travel a bit to get here as we are now a two day event. I am meeting with their people on Saturday, March 2nd to work out the details. The plan is to set us up on the fantail where all of the visitors will walk past our game on their way off the ship. We are getting a group discount on admission. All HMGS-PSW members will have access to a code that will give them a discount on tickets that day. Seniors and Veterans will get an additional discount.

The USS IOWA is in the process of procuring a tent for their fantail to allow larger gatherings to take place in a variety of weather conditions. It will probably not be in place for March but he is going to try to get it done in time for our event. The game will be General Quarters Rules and we post more details about that soon. I will make an amazing prediction that the scenario will include the USS IOWA.
The basic plan so far.
The Iowa opens at 10:00AM
Naval wargame on the fantail starts at Noon. This is the time that the first visitors will be concluding their tour.
Play from 12:00PM to 4:00PM
4:00PM – 6:00PM We tour the ship with the game players
6:00PM-8:00PM Dinner at Ports O Call Village (a short walk from the ship)
8:00PM home to rest up for March Forward!
I intend this to be the first of many events at this location. The USS IOWA foundation wants to eventually run 4 different tours of different parts of the ship. It would be great to have a game, or games at the grand opening of each new tour.
