I am looking for an manufacturer who supplies something like the palisade/picket type fencing typical Russian villages in the Kalmyk

The superb photos from the summer 1942 campaign at the bottom of this link give an idea of what I'm trying to replicate.

Renedra does exactly what I want, but unfortunately their stuff is in 28mm. Other fences I have found are post and rail type – suitable for the US or Western Europe but not for the Eastern front. Maybe some 20mm or "n" gauge railway stuff out there that I'm not aware of?

Looks like a typical solid wooden fence. Easy enough to scratchbuild. Use strips of thin card for the fence itself and matchsticks or balsa for the supporting uprights.

Total battle do some enclosures similar to this …

Not in strips though.

Awesome pics – thanks for sharing those.

Dunno anyone that makes the fencing, though as others said, it wouldn't be hard to scratchbuild.

Those are great photos.

The Fat Wally pictures are brilliant, and I hadn't seen the Total Battle before. Thanks for those links.

As for the fences, I was thinking about them myself and thought about scratch building my own. Having seen Fat Wally's fences I definitely will now!

Ta very much. Fencing is very easy to create.

I used thin card feather cut into strips. Glue matchsticks or thicker card perpendicular to the thin planks. When dry cut to the desired height. Add matchstick uprights and glue to a lolly stick.

et voila.

Thanks! excellent, have just invested in 1,000 lolly sticks (!) so will definitely try than. Fat Wally, I have taken a few of your tips to heart on Kerr and King buildings etc. – its a great blog!
