Hello All, Just received another batch of painted figures from Evil Bob's. This batch has Dagworthy's Maryland Provincials and some more natives in warpaint. The Maryland boys are a mix of figures from our packs. This was an attempt to simulate the non-uniformed look that they had by the time they reached Fort Bedford in 1758. They had been on the frontier till then at Fort Cumberland. The unit was in such poor shape, that General Forbes had them issued coats from the Va. battalions. That is why you see some blue coats among them and some left in civilian attire. The standard bearer is one of the Provincial officers with the pistol cut out of his hand, and drilled for the flag(flag is from the Flag Dude). This unit might still be better equipped then what the actual unit was. To see the pictures, please go to the Gallery section of our website, loyalhannaoutpost.com . take care, Keith |

Nice treatment, assume you made up the flag? |

Thomas, Colonial Maryland may have used the Calvert Arms with the British Union. There is a description of a large garrison flag in use at Fort Frederick, MD following this pattern. Its use as a regimental flag is conjectural. v/r Joe |

Actually, with the additional photograph, I see a quality about those figures that make them very appealing to me. May well have to get some in. Thanks. |

The flag is from the Flag Dude. There is reference to their flag being of the Calvert Arms with the union. Now as far as this flag being carried by Dagworthy's boys, probably not.Even though the Maryland Provincials had their own flag, Dagworthy's boys were stationed at Fort Cumberland and were used more as rangers. In fact General Forbes requested their presence to act in this role. I could see the Provincials at Fort Frederick having this flag. The flag was added for appeal to the unit. As we release more figures, some of these will become more of the traditional line troop types. By the time I get done with Dagworthy's, it will look like they have been on the frontier. By the way thank you Crossover Miniatures for posting the picture, and to all of you for the complements. take care, Keith |
