Back in late October CATMAN2 (Will Townsend ?) of Plastic Soldier Company stated the following:

Plastic Soldier Company here – as a point of fact i am not allowed to advertise in Wargames Illustrated and their staff have been told not to review my products

On this thread: TMP link

I observed that in a very recent Wargames Illustrated (Think it was #304, Feb 2013) included both a very nice interview article of Warwick Kinkade on his Battle Group Kursk WW2 rules and includes an advert for Plastic Soldier Company in the same issue. Great article by the way. I really enjoyed reading Warwick's thoughts on WW2 wargaming and how those drove the design of Battle Group Kursk.

So I'm very glad to see this in the pages of WI, but I am also a bit curious now if this is evidence of a recent "policy change" or perhaps if the perception that CATMAN2 had back in October was a simple misunderstanding? Good outcome in either case I suppose.

Cheers, VB

Or that somebody paid their bill? Not sure why everybody jumps to the conclusion that Battlefront are always the bad guys. I know they are not perfect, but nor is any other company. For every 'must have 50 per cent BF minis' there is a 'free V3 rule book for you'. Works out in the long run for me.

But if the issue had to do with PSC "infringing into" BF territory, maybe they're only limiting it to adverts of 15mm or 1/100 products. Does the adverts include their 15mm line?

BGK is 20mm or 1/72 so maybe that's okay, since BF doesn't do 20mm 1/72.

though really could be played in any scale

"though really could be played in any scale"

Indeed I played KGN in 6mm so there is no reason why BGK would not work in 6mm as well,

Tally Ho!

the latest WI had a feature on BF in New Zealand and strangely the photos did not show them as having 2 heads or cackling whilst they worked out the latest way to rip off the poor Joes who wargame. But still and all they are mainly ex-GW – can any historical gamer ever really trust anyone who has played games with dwarves and elves not to pervert our hobby?
