AMEE (Autonomous Mapping Exploration and Evasion) robot: link YouTube link YouTube link I've asked a couple of times in the past, and was told that the limbs would be too thin and that other details weren't things that would cast properly. However, in this day and age, could it be done? Thanks, Dan TMP link |

Not impossible just not " easy" would Probly end up multi-part

I see no reason it can't be done in pewter, though probably easiest as a two-part, or multi-part figure. A high tin content in the mini will make it more robust. Might need to make the legs a bit beefier, and the claws will need to be one piece, with filler in the middle, but it can be done. I'd recommend making the original out of styrene, with Green Stuff, or other putty detailing applied over that. |

3D and prototyping would be more accurate but not hard to do. An " inspired by" version would be best methinks. |

Anything can be made and moulded just depends how much of a 'kit' you want it to be really, nowt technically that much of a problem there. L |

Plus, with the 3-D stuff, the cleanup is usually bad on very small parts, so would be tedious. |

I was told that my 6mm Pathfinders could not be cast by many in the gaming business due to the teeny gap between the wheels and the wheel arches, I was also told that my guns were too thin. So I went to a compnay that said they could cast them. They did, and they sell well.
Plus, with the 3-D stuff, the cleanup is usually bad on very small parts, so would be tedious. Indeed, unless you are prepared to pay a good amount to get a nice printed flawless model. I had some samples of my Pathfinders in very good perfactory, they were smooth as you like. They cost more than my regular method, so I spent less and did a little bit of cleaning up. All depends on your time and money budget. Ask around. |

That does look like a decent option. Needs a head though. |

Ok. When on prowler mode, it seems as if the robot is only about waist high. Does tha sound right to you? |

Can't recall from the movies, but sounds good to me. Up to chest high would work as well. |

Milliput better option I would say much easier to get smooth finish and straight lines. L |

Ooooh..Tough project. It can be done. Alot of man hours on the bench but I'm sure I could LW dropcast it. What's the scale? |

It can be done in any pose in white metal. Its just a matter of work and time taken. If someone takes up the challenge I would like to see how it was done. GBS 15mm.co.uk |

I found these to be a good substitute. I'm going to be using them as semi-autonomous support weapon platforms for my clear horizon Heldivers. link |
