Just a couple of new models for February … firstly I've done a new 6mm Aircraft Hangar based on a Type S 'Admiralty' hangar but with concertina type doors, and finally got round to releasing some small 6mm Saxon huts and Roundhouses.

Hopefully next month will bring another farmhouse and a couple of barns – and if I get the time, some half-timbered German Houses.

Don't know what happened to the hangar – oh well – here it is again …

I really like your range so far, and will be ordering(railway stuff and the normandy range) when im back in funds. Any chance of you doing any Dutch style WW2 buildings such as the Hartenstein Hotel and some town houses in 6mm?

Have been looking into some Dutch frontages – about 5mm thick to add to the fronts of other existing buildings but haven't got very far yet. I assume you mean the Hartenstein Hotel in Arnhem. certainly worth looking into.

its in Oosterbeek if im being pedantic but yeah youre referring to the same one(I believe a european company makes one in 6mm but i cant seem to find it at though moment, that doesnt mean their isnt room for another on themarket though).

Arnhem/Market Garden is a popular campaign so you might do well with a small range of Dutch buildings, personally i'd also like to see the Arnhem bridge approach ramp.

Also i'd suggest doing some ruins in 6mm, ideally runied versions of some of your existing range

Haven't got a clue how to effectively do my buildings in ruins – apart from strategic use of a hammer, but am working on it.

I'm very taken with your Viking and Medieval ranges to the point where I can feel a purchase or three coming on. Any chance of some 17th century British stuff for 6mm ECW to add to the medieval houses? A nice model a smaller stone built "manor" of something like Oakwell Hall would be nice. Plus some ornamental gardens to go with it say a "Knot garden" style of thing. Naseby windmill would also be nice.

Years ago in the pre-internet days, I did a bit of my own scratch-building of battlefield structures (which were not so easily found back then). I did resin castings of the better of my scratch-builds.

I made a couple of damaged/destroyed versions of the buildings I was casting. To do this I simply pushed some clay tightly into the mold, and then scratched some textures into the surfaces of the clay which I could still access. I even went so far as to push a toothpick into the clay on one or two occasions, to make timbers and studs appear in the wreckage.

It was fairly simple, and produced reasonable results.
