After a lengthy break, I finally returned to my Houstons ships. Details on my blog link

Wow, really beautiful work! I do 1/3000, so it is great to see these bigger ships in all their glory.

I also have Houston Ships…Spanish American War.
They look great on the table top.

Very good paint jobs by you Khusrau.

Very very nice. I think there is something amiss about the Thunderer/Devastation though. The funky cut-out part of the deck was actually at the stern, and it looks like the upper deck is turned around and the mast should be abaft the funnels like you have it on Dreadnaught. In other words, the hull is facing the wrong direction relative to the bow wave, but the upper deck with funnels and mast is facing the right way.

Again though, good looking ships!

Very fine work sir, have you made any changes to the masts on the models they look a bit different from when I've seen them before? Also are the deck planks cast on the model or painted on detail it looks very effective?

The planking is painted on, as I don't think any HS have such detailing.

If he knows what's good for him, he drilled out all the fighting tops and replaced the masts with rod & wire! grin

Or, at least that's what I did with mine beyond the first. I have 6mm pikes that seem to hold up better than the masts my Charlemagne. I had to re-barrel all its quickfires, don't know why I didn't just go the extra mile then and there.

Great work! Pre-dreads in that scale makes for an impressive sight, arrayed on a tabletop. Thanks for sharing.

That's Indeed what I meant, in pics I've seen of them they look a bit fragile, But these don't.

Khusrau
how do you paint on the planks of the decks is there a technique you use, i would be interested to know.
