Ran this one about 2 years ago in the general Polls forum. Renewing it since the new 30k Heresy book came out. Looking what chapters you own, are working on, or plan to work on. For me. Currently: 1) World Eaters, 50 so far. Working up to 100. Sons of Horus next for the Istvaan campaigns. Yours? World Eaters, Sons of Horus, Emperors Children, Death Guard, Word Bearers, 1000 Sons, Dark Angels, Ultra Marines, Blood Angels, Iron Hands, Iron Warriors, Raven Guard, Salamanders, White Scars, Imperial Fists, Alpha Legion, Night Lords Space Wolves, Mechanicum (incl. Dark Mech), Sisters of Silence, Good old I.G. |

Chapters? Surely in 30K they are legions? |
Pictors Studio | 30 Jan 2013 1:53 p.m. PST |
But there weren't any other ones, really. The chapters hadn't divided up yet. For me I'm torn between Emperor's Children, World Eaters and Sons of Horus. I haven't started on any of them yet because I have all those chapters in 40K. If I do any it might actually be Thousand Sons due to having a ready opponent in a Space Wolves army. If cost were not an object at all I'd start on World Eater army today, though I think. |

" Surely in 30K they are legions?" Yes, quite! My bad. |
basileus66 | 30 Jan 2013 2:02 p.m. PST |
Tough question, but being a loyalist at the heart I would like to do a mix-match of the legionaires that survived the virus bombing and fought the traitors at Coral City. |
Pizzagrenadier | 30 Jan 2013 2:04 p.m. PST |
I've always loved the Death Guard, but particularly, the Dusk Raiders before they were absorbed into the Death Guard by Mortarion. White armor with a red arm. While not necessarily 30k as in the original Legions of the Great Crusade and the Heresy, I also liked the Mantis Warriors and the Flesh Eaters. link |

None. I prefer to ignore 30K. It is just one more step in the direction of Marinehammer 40K. For those of us who like more of the background than just the Emperors Nancy boys it is a useless release. Now where is my Eldar codex that hasn't been updated in 2 editions? |
Prince Rupert of the Rhine | 30 Jan 2013 2:35 p.m. PST |
Always fancied doing a Legio Custodes army very cool IMO
|

For me, Night Lords. So far very well written and realized in terms of 30K background

Sons of Horus
I always ran Black Legion for Chaos when I gamed 40k (though more frequently ran my Eldar). Chalfant |

Dark Angels – since the Luthurites embarked on the path of abomination – you can use the same models for both loyalists and traitors |

" Always fancied doing a Legio Custodes army" I would in a second if they made them in plastic! |
Wolfprophet | 31 Jan 2013 8:13 a.m. PST |
Space Wolves. But I have strong respect for the Salamanders and their noble ways of protecting innocents and melting the crap out of their enemies. |

I'm gonna have to go with Kayl's Screaming Tree Weasels. |

I always choose army based on the looks I liked Custodians and Sisters of silence most, But from existing chapters.. My favorite Emperors children do not visually seduce me in violet. So i would go Sons of Horus – In USMC tank crew coulor they look very striking. |
Uesugi Kenshin | 31 Jan 2013 7:08 p.m. PST |
I agree about SoH Awuu. By the time FW gets to the battle of "Terra" book I'm hoping they release some Custodes & Sisters. I'm a Loyalist at heart but I like playing the baddies. Thanks all for the input so far. |
Uesugi Kenshin | 01 Feb 2013 1:06 p.m. PST |
Btw, I fully anticipate FW doing some Mechanic us units this year, hopefully Skitarii will be amongst them. |

Not come over all fan boi, but the Horus Heresey, is a tremendously realised piece of background 'fluff' excellent story, and soooo evocative for gaming purposes. Not that I have played 40/30K for about 20 years. John |

John, It was enough for me to get back into gaming 40k for the first time in 10 years. |
Capt Flash | 29 Sep 2014 5:54 a.m. PST |
Iron Hands, Blood Angels, Imperial Fists. I've already built an Iron Warriors army using mostly the old Marine bodies (Crusader armor and what-not) so it would be the least expensive route for me to build up HH specific units for… -Edgar |
TheGaffer | 29 Sep 2014 6:41 a.m. PST |
Played 40k yesterday, for the first time in about 20 years. Have had the minis but use different sets of rules. Space Wolves, about 25 so far with 10 more in a box. and a yet to be named Chaos Marine Warband, about 15 figs 3 vehicles; and a dreadnought in progress. They're Khorne Berzerkers with Green and Red motif so thinking a Fallen Dark Angels band or a Space Wolves Nemesis. Will have to get copies of the rules as I have 2d edition. |
Insomniac | 29 Sep 2014 11:51 a.m. PST |
For me it would be World Eaters. Lots and lots of assault marines and close combat orientated dreadnoughts :) |
Capt Flash | 29 Sep 2014 1:54 p.m. PST |
@ Insomniac- Gotta have Khârn The Betrayer leading your warband, it's the only way to roll… |

For 30K I Have the Space Wolves For Larger Games in epic scale I have Emperors children Night Lords And of course Space Wolves I do have a set of the emperor and 25 of his custodes (10 resin terminator types and 15 metal custodes) that I would be interested in getting rid of drop me a line

Blood Angels, the most noble of chapters – plus I can still use the models with my 40K BA. I want to do Death Guard, but before they are turned. I'd like to find out more regards the two failed chapters that are not mentioned directly but hinted at numerous times. |
