Whoa, I really want the L33 flamethrower for my Spanish Civil War CTV forces. I've already built one set of the CV33 tankettes by S Model so I'm likely to order more. At this point I have built 3 different S Model sets: Hotchkiss H-35, Panzer II, and the Italian tankettes. All the models are excellent but I confess that on each kit there was one thing that would defeat me. On the tankettes it was the tiny headlights that do not have a guide hole for placement. While trying to add them by eye one of the little lights popped out of the tweezers and ended up devoured by the carpet monster. The Panzer II kits had guide holes for the headlights and notek lights but my damn clumsiness lost one of each! :( Last but by no means least, the H-35 comes with a nice photo-etched detail set that includes tools, an exhaust cover, and tiny two-part tow hooks. The tools and exhaust cover were a breeze to add, but the tow hooks consist of a tiny triangle with a hole on one corner and a tiny fragile u-shape that you are supposed to attach to the hole in the triangle. All of my efforts in this regard were defeated so my H-35s currently have no tow hooks! Despite my minor mishaps, I would strongly recommend these kits. For the most part they are a fast and easy build. Just be extra patient and cautious around the tiny details. |

Regarding the 21cm Nebelwerfer, there was a problem picked up with the barrels on the test sprues that Henk reviewed. I have not heard whether it has since been fixed by S Model or left up to the modeller to correct: link |

Can they not just be trimmed off ? |

Can they not just be trimmed off ? That is the recommendation, though it won't look entirely satisfactory as a representation of a loaded 'werfer unless you are prepared to do a bit more work (refer to photograph in link). Depends how picky you are
Of course if you don't want it loaded then the barrels will also need to be completely hollowed out. |
