We're very pleased to give you a sneak peek of the Federal Shrike Patrol Car, used by both the army and the Federal Defence Force (the Exterminators) for patrol and fire support purposes. The vehicle will have both Federal Army and Exterminator crew, both drivers and pintle gunners (the pintle gun will be part of the figure which is why it is not in the design). The gunner rides alongside the driver but when he mans the pintle gun he stands in the rear compartment. There's more about this battle buggy but we'll fill you in later! Stay tuned

Another great design
And the iguana is great too This would work great under the Dropship |
Lion in the Stars | 29 Jan 2013 10:39 p.m. PST |
Heh
Now you need a right-side passenger with his foot braced against the front edge of the doorframe and covering the right-front side of the vehicle with his rifle

You've got my attention, been interested in something like this for the Exterminators for a while. |

Seems like it would work as a company or civilian vehicle for colonies too. -Eli |
khurasanminiatures | 30 Jan 2013 7:32 a.m. PST |
Eli, I may have a canvas cover made for it so it can function like a little staff car, and possibly a high ranking passenger for the seat next to the driver. I'm also going to have the driver made so he/she can be put in either the port or starboard front seat, as the gamer prefers. |
MrHarold | 30 Jan 2013 8:32 a.m. PST |
I'm also going to have the driver made so he/she can be put in either the port or starboard front seat, as the gamer prefers. That's very international of you! |
Sargonarhes | 30 Jan 2013 9:05 a.m. PST |
Oh now this is what I'm talking about. More open top jeeps an buggies. |
cfielitz | 30 Jan 2013 9:14 a.m. PST |
Looking forward to that one! Will the driver be permanently mounted, or will he be separate? |
MrHarold | 30 Jan 2013 9:34 a.m. PST |
Will the driver be permanently mounted, or will he be separate? Sounds like separate: I'm also going to have the driver made so he/she can be put in either the port or starboard front seat, as the gamer prefers. |
artbraune | 30 Jan 2013 10:02 a.m. PST |
How about a couple of pintle mounted gun accessories? |
rvandusen | 30 Jan 2013 10:11 a.m. PST |
My dad had a green metal-flake version in 1:1 scale back around 1975 |
clkeagle | 30 Jan 2013 11:06 a.m. PST |
That's a great looking buggy. And like Eli suggests – lots of uses for civlians and paramilitary as well as military. The Exterminators crew could probably match the Corporate Marines or Sepulvedan Resistance with the right paint job. How about a couple of pintle mounted gun accessories? This vehicle is begging for some accessories. If an accessory pack included some "bolt-on" armor panels, this could even work as an End Times post-apoc vehicle

If that roll cage is a separate piece, maybe we could get a version that has an enclosed crew compartment and remote turret for use on hostile environment worlds. -Eli |

If that roll cage is a separate piece, maybe we could get a version that has an enclosed crew compartment and remote turret for use on hostile environment worlds. Okay, I know it isn't what you're visualizing, but now I can't stop picturing one of these with an 80s video game-style bubble dome. :) -Chris K. PS: No, that isn't an actual request! |

It will be perfect for my Sepulvedan Resistance that are used as colonial militia. |

I suspect it's the green colour, but it's giving me a 1980s GI Joe jeep vibe – which is awesome because I have a 15mm 1980s GI Joe and Cobra in space project underway

deviantsaint | 30 Jan 2013 3:53 p.m. PST |
Very cool. Kinda reminds me of a certain video game buggy. |
Etranger | 30 Jan 2013 5:15 p.m. PST |
Jon, if you're making separate seated crew figures it would be great to have them sold separately. I've got a need for a dozen or more already. The buggy is on 'the list'

clkeagle | 31 Jan 2013 7:42 a.m. PST |
Jon, if you're making separate seated crew figures it would be great to have them sold separately. I've got a need for a dozen or more already. Good call! Many of the more popular 15mm figure ranges would benefit from a small pack of seated poses. They are extremely useful. Will the Red Faction get a similar vehicle? I'd imagine Nova Respublik using something heavier and more ponderous. That "not BTR-40" Jon previewed awhile back would work if it had an open-top variant. -Chris K. |
khurasanminiatures | 31 Jan 2013 8:32 a.m. PST |
The Nova Respublik equivalent would be the Cossack, which will be released soon. |

Is the Shrike car going to be in resin, white metal, or a combination of both? How about a turret ring or passenger gun on the side to make this a Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV) :-)? Will this be in wargaming scale or closer to real model kit scale? I mean would the interior be real scale or made squatter for the squat wargame figures? Would be nice to place some 1/48 or 1/35 scale military figures next to it and use it as a FAV. |

Awaiting a reply from Khurasan Miniatures :-). |

mister droid | 30 Jun 2013 12:28 p.m. PST |
USMEADS, the scale is 15mm. |

Yes, 15mm
still waiting for an update on the status of this neat car. |
No Such Agency | 04 Jul 2013 8:02 a.m. PST |
Wow, it's like Halo's Warthog and GI Joe's VAMP had a little green baby. And really, I expect you could mount all sorts of things on this to make it fill whatever role you want. |
USMEADS | 23 Oct 2013 10:53 a.m. PST |
Ah, here is the thread I'm looking for
Any update, status, or photos of this vehicle? Nine months has passed since FYI introduction
Would it come with an open turret ring or side machine gun mounts? Thanks! |
zonk76 | 23 Oct 2013 10:59 a.m. PST |
I've been looking forward to this one as well! |
khurasanminiatures | 23 Oct 2013 12:48 p.m. PST |
What you guys have to understand is that product completion often moves at a glacial pace in this business. The good news is that the autocannon gunner and missileman for the shrike have been done and shipped back to me! (Not Mike's fault by the way--he was quite prompt in making them.) |
USMEADS | 23 Oct 2013 5:01 p.m. PST |
Do you think the Shrike will be out by this Christmas? Any photos of the gunner and missile man :-)? |
Fritadas | 24 Oct 2013 6:43 a.m. PST |
"glacial pace" says the one-man operation with what seems like a bazillion new releases every month
(honestly KM, no idea how you do it, I'm beginning to think you're a cyborg) Also, can't wait for this. it seems so
adaptable. |
wminsing | 24 Oct 2013 6:47 a.m. PST |
Yea, I don't think anyone can complain about Khurusan's rate of releases. -Will |
khurasanminiatures | 24 Oct 2013 8:30 a.m. PST |
And yet Fritadas people say I'm too slow! |
USMEADS | 24 Oct 2013 9:58 a.m. PST |
I think the vehicle looks pretty wicked and cute. If it's proportional, scaled properly, and assembled properly, it could qualify as a model kit instead of a wargaming mini. Since it hasn't been released, that is what I an hoping for
that it resembles more of a scale model kit than a wargaming miniature. |
