If there was only one miniatures item I could save from my collection then it would have to be this fine figure of Capitán Alatriste, 1625. It is magnificent.

From my collection, this 54mm Andrea miniature was commissioned from a company called 'Under Two Flags', situated near Bond Street, central London. Sadly, the company has ceased trading.

Check out the Andrea website and be truly inspired. Enjoy.

I like some of the pinup girls particularly….

I confess, my opinion of the sculpt was; "Meh, okay…"

Until the third pic.
The facial expression is just perfect for Alatriste.
Cynical and world-weary, but still poised and ready, despite himself, for another turn of the cards.

The painting's all good, but I particularly like the oxblood leather of his baldric.

It paints up nicely.

That is a cracking figure, and fine painting. Agree with Norman D, the sculptor really caught the world-weary expression of Alatriste.

I love those books. Santa brought me The Pirates of Levant. I'll be reading it soon.

Oh, great miniature, too.
