Just in time for Salute.

Announcement on the Perry website home page:

I'd love to know what – if anything – is down the pipeline for Napoleonics.

These are lovely, though, and I'll be grabbing a box or two of Americans and Brits for Sharp Practice.

I think I could cry. In fact…I….I think I am crying, right now. I can hardly wait- good news.

Interesting that they have "Saratoga caps". Does this mean that they have also docked the coats?

JCBJCB26 Jan 2013 6:31 p.m. PST

The rear shots of the figures look like they might be docked.

What happened to 8th Army? C'mon man!

Suetonius Paullinus27 Jan 2013 5:18 a.m. PST

Possibly their best plastic release so far!
I will certainly preorder a few boxes.
And buy some more at Salute ;-)
One cannot have enough Redcoats after all..

Cheers

Curses! Too late for Hotlead!

Bandolier27 Jan 2013 4:09 p.m. PST

Any ideas of what the number of figures per box might be?
Looks like 5 figures per sprue for rank & file and 6 for command. I'm hoping for at least 36.

Supercilius Maximus28 Jan 2013 2:57 a.m. PST

I think it's around that number. They usually put the equivalent of one or two battalions in each box @ 1:20.

GiloUK28 Jan 2013 5:01 a.m. PST

Presumably they will at some stage make the command sprue available separately, like their other plastic sets, so if you're only making battalions of 16-20 figures you can buy an extra command set.

That extra command set is good to know. I am leery of buying boxed or bagged sets for unit sizes that are not what I use. My battalions are usually 18-24 figures.

Supercilius Maximus28 Jan 2013 11:35 a.m. PST

There are actually six command figures in the box, and the two ensigns can be re-configured as extra officers/NCOs using spare arms, so two three-man command sets can be obtained from the one box anyway.

Are these 25mm or 28mm?? If they are 28mm how do they measure up next to Old Glory 25mm??

Finally…

MLCaras08 Feb 2013 8:01 p.m. PST

Darn, too late for Cold Wars probably. I'll keep my powder dry and wait and hope for their release of continentals in hunting shirts (hint, hint!), hoping they'll offer a variety of hats, such as a Virginia Round (or Riflemen's) hat! (HINT! HINT! HINT!). There are a few early war Virginia regt's I want to put on a game table!

Suetonius Paullinus04 Mar 2013 3:34 p.m. PST

The Redcoats are now available for preorder :-)

Cheers

Looks like 36 with 2 dead guys…why couldn't they be ready in time for Cold Wars…why…why??

BTW…It says their in "cutdowns"…

Look extremely good. Better start saving now. Could be a lovely distraction

trailape07 Mar 2013 2:42 a.m. PST

I've just ordered 3 boxes of the plastics and several sets of metals.
Now waiting patiently,….

Suetonius Paullinus15 Mar 2013 12:01 p.m. PST

My preordered Redcoats arrived today!
Without a shadow of a doubt the best of their plastic releases so far.
(And great for converting the plastic Nap British as well :-))

Cheers
