It is indeed – its based on a penny piece 3mm or 1/600 scale |

Looking good Rhys. What did you use for ground/filler on the coin, and what are the tufts? I'm inclined to think it's homemade since this is 3mm, but I'd love to know if you found something small enough to be useful. Jack |

SMC – thanks very much :-) Just Jack – thanks very much. For the paste I used the following: Baccus basing system sand link The sand is very fine and ideal for the small scales. I then mixed this with some PVA glue and brown paint (a tester pot from DIY store) as well as some water and kept it quite thick consistency. I then spread this on the penny and pushed the model into this and waited for it to dry. Then I simply dry brushed it a couple of times. The tufts I bought from a show from Great Escape Games link These tufts from mininatur are brilliant. I used short tufts early fall and short tufts spring. |

Rhys, You're minis look great, and I greatly appreciate all your advice. I'm in the middle of a 10mm modern project right now, but you've got 3mm calling to me. I keep daydreaming about singly mounted, playing out a Platoon Forward or TFL (either 'Blenneville or Bust' or 'Vyazma or Bust') campaign on a 2x2 or 3x3 table. As always, too many projects, too little time. The next big question for you is, how are you handling infantry? Hope all's well, and thanks again. Jack |

Thanks Just Jack. I want to do moderns too – again in 3mm though as I love the fact that you could play a 1 to 1 company game on a 2 x 2 board and not require much more for battalion games especially if you scale the games at the higher levels of operation. My next purchase will be more significant than just a few packs and will include infantry and guns etc. For the guns I will still use 1p bases with 1 gun mounted on it. Then possibly mount between 5 and 10 infantry on a 2p piece. But I will need to look at this once I have the minis. Yeah using something like PF and IABSM would be great fun. I need to get some terrain together as well. That will be another little project. |

I can't wait to see your infantry as I think it's even harder to pull off at this scale than armor. But I'm sure you'll crack the code, post pics, then I can solicit the procedures ;) Keep in mind, there are essentially 3 different types of OO infantry: sections of 5 prone rifleman (WW2 Brits, French, modern US), sections of 5 staggered standing rifleman (WW2 Soviet), and sections of 5 in line (that some guys are splitting and mounting staggered individually, such as WW2 US and Japanese, modern Israeli and Vietnamese). Nice job on the base Rhys . The Panthers gun looks a tad short though, it should stick out from the hull by nearly 2 metres |

Apologies, I should have mentioned that I managed to drop a heavy duty pair of pliers on the end of the barrel when doing something else and it broke off hence its shortness! |
