I had them used against my Carthaginians once, but I forget what army used them.
They missed.

Used them in a DBMM refight of Pyrrhus vs. Camillan Romans.
The Command they were part of became disheartened and they disappeared!

No, but when I first saw them mentioned, I had to go through the WRG army lists until I found out who did use them.

Have a herd of them for Mid Republic Rome in an anti-Elephant roll. Classic Hack had a rule for them.

I have never used them in a wargame, and the time I used them in a job interview was a bit of a fiasco.

That was what my defence lawyer said, anyway, but the judge was harsher about it.

darthfozzywig26 Jan 2013 8:51 a.m. PST

May have called someone that in a wargame a long time ago, but haven't used one.

Enactors do it regularily when the hog roast catches fire.

Probably worth asking Murphy…..

We prefer the term "flamboyantly dresses chauvinists", thank you very much.

Ayton's green and pleasant fields have indeed resounded to the thunder of sooty trotters.

It was like the scene in 'ConAir' where they look out the back of the plane and see the car being towed through the air:

"On any other day, that might seem strange."

Martin Rapier26 Jan 2013 11:06 a.m. PST

No, I can't say I have. I do have some 20mm goats with no obvious application. Flaming goats??

Flamming Old Goats? Culling of the Gray Beards?

Martin Rapier26 Jan 2013 1:23 p.m. PST

Hmm, I can see I'm going to have make a flaming pigs psiloi stand.

For some reason I'd imagined them being cheerful Glouchester Old Spot type porkers rather than warthogs.

Who asked this joker26 Jan 2013 1:41 p.m. PST

No but I eat pork BBQ at Cold Wars every year I go. grin

Maddaz11126 Jan 2013 3:20 p.m. PST

war hogs not warthogs

yes, I have seen them on the table, but like all very unusual troops I always think they are over rated by rules systems.

Not in a miniatures game, but I loved them in Rome:Total War. As often as not though, they'd panic and head straight at my own cavalry.

Sergeant Paper26 Jan 2013 7:46 p.m. PST

Flaming Pigs, flaming Cows, an whole Flaming Orchestra one time… but that was in Call of Cthulhu.

Actually, no flaming animals myself, though my brother had some for his ancients (Sassanids, maybe?).

Patrick R27 Jan 2013 5:51 a.m. PST

Nope

John the OFM27 Jan 2013 9:59 a.m. PST

Flaming pigs can panic? Who knew???

CraigSpiel27 Jan 2013 10:14 a.m. PST

I used them in Pig Wars. I recall that Irregular made them.
