So I'm messing with Mounted Infantry and Camelry. Camel Corp and all that
I want a tension between mounted mobility and dismounted firepower. What fixes/houserules have people tried? I can always slap on a -1/-2 Shoot score if mounted, but am interested in other ideas. -TV |

I would go so far as to halve the Shoot number, or disallow shooting while mounted altogether. I don't think it was common practice to fire while still mounted on your camel as camels do not offer a very stable firing platform, and I would imagine they aren't keen on having loud bangs going off over their heads. |

How about horse boys? Would you half their shot as well? |

Yes. Horses, too, seldom if ever stand stone still allowing a well aimed shot. |

I think it might be interesting (comical) to give the horses or camels a "Whoa, Nellie!" test if you fire from their back. Oh, wait. Never mind. G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. is a SERIOUS game. I have seen Renaissance army lists with ultra-light guns fired from a camel's back, and I thought so then too. Elephants too. |

Yes terribly serious. My Camel Corps will just as likely be stopping an Oviraptor infestation in the Sudan than skirmishing with truculent tribesmen. |
