I'm looking for a plastic injection molding company that makes small pieces in small runs.
Anybody know of one?

no. do you want me to look at the trade magazines and come back to you with companies that do prototype runs, short runs in specialized materials,

it really is a case of how big a mould, can they use a pre produced cooling plate, what kind of machine, do you need advice on runners,

send me a pm with your info and I will check with my list, and see if I can put you in touch with somebody who will be able to help you.

Aren't there "tabletop" injection moulding machines ? Not cheap – a few K I think, but depending on how much you want to do, might be worth considering.

I have one of those table top machines, I can just about pump a 28mm casting on a micro sprue.

but it's really slow compared with spincasting metal, and way more expensive for the mould…

Shapeways, if you have a digital design. Not injection moulding, but good for short runs.

When I looked into this a couple of years ago for a terrain project I was considering, there WERE some companies that would take your 3D CAD file and turn it into an injection mold – basically by cutting the mold with a CnC milling machine. It was cheaper than the god awful prices I'd seen bandied about, but still not what I would call CHEAP. IIRC, they were mostly in China.
