Beware the rogue apostrophe police!

Overall, I like them. Just a few quibbles. The fellow in the last photo needs a bit of work on his face. I like the idea of sunken cheeks, but his left cheek needs some work. No one has that angular a cheek bone. What is the fellow on the far left holding in his left hand and his weapon confuses me as to exactly what it is. Sorry, but as as much as love 19th Century lit (my professional specialty), I haven't seen the modern Sherlock Holmes movies. That's why I might not be picking up on the references on the minis.

A bit of variety in the headgear might not be amiss. Derbies came in several heights and a cloth cap be apropos, especially for the chap with the sledgehammer.

kokigami22 Jan 2013 10:26 p.m. PST

Cpbelt, I think it is brass knuckles.

mister flay23 Jan 2013 2:54 a.m. PST

might see better from this angle Cpbell…

sword and rifle for the chap on the left.
v.loosely based on a Lee metford repeater rifle, i figured he's ex-military and hung onto his sword.

i understand about the headgear Shagnasty, i did want some unifying element for them and went with the hats. also, i may follow these up with a crew all top-hatted, so again, using the hats for a 'uniform' aspect

just previewing this post, damn it's easy to forget how unforgiving macro photography can be !

Excellent work! I like the whole bunch a lot. Who's going to produce them?

Lion in the Stars23 Jan 2013 9:16 a.m. PST

15s?

mister flay24 Jan 2013 6:54 a.m. PST

no-one as yet nazrat, though they're up for grabs if anyone's interested.
i hope they get produced because i'd like a set for myself to use in 'Empire of the Dead'

28mm Lion in the Stars ( wish my eyes were That good ! )

mister flay24 Jan 2013 9:47 a.m. PST

better photo , without the flash-glare

J Womack 9425 Jan 2013 5:28 p.m. PST

I like 'em. Now do a set in the same poses but with bare heads or flat caps. That would make a lovely unit of ten miscellaneous civilians.

Nice, the paint really brings out the personalities.

Ivan Agram06 Mar 2013 12:40 a.m. PST

Nice sculpts, really like them but i was wondering if paint would cause problems with casting?

mister flay06 Mar 2013 3:13 a.m. PST

curiosity got the better of me Ivan,
if they go to cast, i will v.carefully clean them off; every nook and cranny

Craig Cartmell06 Mar 2013 11:04 a.m. PST

They would do splendidly for my London Villains company in In Her Majesty's Name.

J Womack 9406 Mar 2013 5:45 p.m. PST

Craig: Yes, yes they would…

The Gray Ghost07 Mar 2013 6:25 p.m. PST
