A reprint of an older article that first appeared on the Kapiti Fusiliers website. That site is now sadly defunct. Just a tutorial on making 28mm buildings that look like the Conflix buildings that are commercially available.

That came out great. Looking at the foam you used, what thickness did you use? The photo above looks like 1 inch stuff, but the building photo looks like it is a thicker piece. I did not notice any seams. I have only stumbled across one large size of foam, but that was at an nous trial construction site. Matthew |

The foam was either 25 or 30 mm. The seams are there – just hidden under wooden beams. |

I do love it, but you PAID what for the foam?

I thought I had a photo of the bottom. It is made from several complete pieces (it is not hollow). I will take a photo at some stage and update. In New Zealand dollars the foam was less than thirty dollars (New Zealand pesos) for a 1.2x.6 metre sheet. I guess I used about a buck's worth for the two houses I made. I have no idea what you would pay in your neck of the woods. |

Stopped by Home Depot to get a few small tools I need and had to check out the foam. A ¾" 2'x8' goes for less than $8 USD, a 1 ½" 2'x8' goes for $16 USD |
