Can anyone advice me on the colour of Ottoman ironclads. I've heard dark green but cant fined any period references in colour to work from. thanks

Unfortunately the only link I could find was down, just had this (Which I am sure you saw):

Aug 7, 2012 – On 10June four Ottoman ironclads anchored at Sulina used a floating … with paint of a color similar to that of the waters in which they operated.

actually that is misleading. it was from this article:

The full quote is:

"By the time of these attacks the Russians had painted their torpedo launches sea-green, the first known instance of the camouflaging of warships with paint of a color similar to that of the waters in which they operated."

Thanks for the link I hadn't seen that, quite an interesting reed. I wonder how effective it was as camouflage
