Thanks for the report. Do you like the way the rules play? I've considered buying them, but am hesitant because I like running big, multi-based units, and these rules are designed for single-based units. |

Just out of curiosity, which rules do you prefer – RRtK or Impetus? Or do they fill different niches for you? Bill. |

@eoschmitz: Yes I like it. Its something diferent and new for me, you have to play the battle in a different way. If you like to remove each casualty this is not, obviously, your game. But I think itīs a nice ruleset to play large battles (20 or more units per side) quickly. @blacksoilbill: Couldnīt say, there are so many diferences. Impetus is also one of my favourites
But RRtK alows you to play solo on an easy way, and Impetus doesnīt (unless you want to play Geriīs Game: youtu.be/1m7dcbIKvlw). ;-) The great thing is you can use your Impetus units with RRtK so, why do you have to choose only one? As you can see, I use a couple of Warmaster (annother of my favourites) stands to make my units :-) Iīm looking for the spanish version. Hopefully Eduardo make a discount soon if you purchase several rulesets (Iīm also interested on Charioteer) :-) Cheers |

@eoschmitz: What do you mean by multi-based units versus single-based units? You can group units together to form a body of troops & you can have several bodies. I play with 20 to 30 units per side formed into 4 to 6 bodies of troops per side. Reaction tests, while rolled once for a body, are applied to single units in the body. I don't think there would be a problem using more units or bodies, but I don't have that many painted, yet. --Elaine atomicfloozy.com |

I believe I have read Elaine's RRTK actions about her Amazon Civil war. They were quite good and actually persuaded me to pickup the rules. Thanks, John |

I was curious about what was meant by multi-based units. The thing that jumps into mind is the multiple stand units used mostly by horse & musket era games where 3 or 4 stands comprise a battalion or regiment. Outside of Warmaster & Hoplomachia, I'm not aware of many ancient or fantasy rulesets where multiple stands are used to represent a single unit. I'm more familiar with games where a single base represents a unit or element & units can be formed into larger bodies. --Elaine |
