With the new release of FSA Version2 and the flood of MARs (model assigned rules) we've become pretty disenchanted with the game. Not wanting all the great models we've all bought to go to waste we decided to go back to playing an old favorite instead. Full Thrust. So today we tried another Firestorm Armada to Full Thrust conversion game and it went great. The ship designs all worked pretty much how they did in FSA. The Terran frigates deserve a special mention. Their missile armament managed to do significant damage to the Dindrenzi battleship and also blew apart the previously untouched cruiser ‘Invictus'. If it wasn't for the fighters screening the battleship I have no doubt the damage would have been much more severe. The Terran cruisers had little difficulty destroying the Dindrenzi frigates that had been sent to harass them. The Terran battleship at the end of the game took severe damage from simultaneous volleys from both the Dindrenzi Battleship and the surviving cruiser. It exploded after taking a critical hit to its engine core. The remaining Terran ships decided discretion was the better part of valor and jumped away leaving the Dindrenzi hurt, but in control of the ‘battlefield'.
If anyone would like to play-test our designs for the various fleets PM me and I'll send you the PDFs. We have the SSDs for the terrans, dindrenzi, ralthoza, aquans and directorate. We've only been able to play-test the dindrenzi, terrans and aquans so any feedback would be appreciated.

jimklein1966,

The information you provided and the conversions seem very interesting. I would like to see the Full thrust stats for the ships.

Unfortunately, members cannot PM you unless you are a supporting member.

Thank you

Said it before and will say it again – Full Thrust, like chess, is a simple but not simplistic game that has lasted precisely due to its innate lack of complexity. With some clever thinking, it's not hard to turn any fleet into one useable in FT ( OK, there are *some* that are a challenge, but not impossible ).

Have also to agree with Louie – would love to see the SSDs and stats, but you'll need to toss a dollar at The Esteemed Editor for a PM. Or, do you have a blog?

I didnt know thats how the PM thing worked. ah well. I dont have a blog but I am on the FT face book page and the yahoo group if either of those would work for anyone.

Links to either or both would be helpful.

Looks like a fun game. I enjoy Full Thrust and happily use FSA models in my fleets.

Nothings sweeter than taking awesome minis and combining them with one of your favourite rule sets. Minis don't belong to rules, they belong to you and you can use whatever rules you want with them.

Nice conversions Jim. My personal preference is also to arrange the FT icons into a rough outline of the ship for an extra cool SSD.

Nice game board too!

Damn right. Preach it, sir! :)

Awesome! I tried to like the Firestorm Armada ruleset, but never really succeeded (my review: link) However using the models with different rules have always been at the back of my mind.

Might take a crack at converting some ships and try it out! It would be a shame to let them go to waste.

Thanks all! Like i said if you want a look at our conversions let me know. The aquans are being tweaked rt now but will be ready in a day or two.
As for the SSDs lay out, i preferre them laid out over a ship diagram too. However the program im using ( found it on the yahoo group) doesnt easily allow for that and doing these conversions is enough work as is! Lol
If any of you try these in a game, post your thoughts.

Thanks!
